Queer Jane is a Slovak indie-pop band, influenced by sixties, punk, countryTheir songs are based on poppy melodies and rich harmonies, taking inspiration from The Beatles and The Beach Boys. The frontman of the group is singer-songwriter Vladimir Nosal, who answered to our questions.


 

How did your band come to being?

I started writing some songs and my close friend Adam liked them and also happened to be a drummer at the same time. Together we initiated a big search for a bass player. Somehow Lukáš came along and soon we became close as well.

 

 

How would you describe your music to a deaf person?

A semi-romantic bunch of guys next door trying to make everyday life seem catchy and smart at the same time.



 

If you could decide to put your own track in any film ever made or yet to be made, what film/track would it be?

Probably a theme song in a documentary about the greatest pop song ever made. 

 

 

What movie would you liked to have soundtracked and why?

Trainspotting. Simply because I love it.



 

When you were 13 you listened to…

Oasis, Ramones and The Who.



 

What was your first vinyl, cassette purchase?

Vinyl: Blondie – Parallel Lines. Cassette: Oasis – (What’s The Story) Morning Glory? 



 

Currently obsessed with…

My girlfriend and Wilco.
