How did your band/act come to being?
After reading The Melancholy Of Resistance couple of years ago I started to study the history of musical tunings and finally realized that our Western tuning is actually out of tune and since I’m basically a guitarist I made an electric guitar that is capable of playing almost any kind of tunings like just intonation etc.
How would you describe your music to a deaf person?
Very emotional, with different moods, storyteller like a film score, and because of the strange tunings I use the sound is really unfamiliar but at the same time very intimate.
If you could decide to put your own track in any film ever made or yet to be made, what film/track would it be?
Anything by Jim Jarmusch or David Lynch.
What movie would you liked to have soundtracked and why?
Paterson would be a good choice because it’s very strange and very natural and poetic at the same time.
When you were 13 you listened to…
Nirvana Unplugged fifteen times a day on my walkman.
What was your first vinyl, cassette purchase?
I used to listen to cassettes but I don’t remember the first one I bought but I remember my last CD I bought almost fifteen years ago: Bending New Corners by Erik Truffaz
Currently obsessed with…
Since I’m also a music curator I listen to all kinds of music whether it be pop, traditional, sacred, jazz, ambient, contemporary. My obsession is of course listening to music in alternate tunings
