“We’d give them the lyrics and then dance with them so that they can feel the songs the way we do…” read our short Q&A with Thank You Baudelaire
How did your band come to being?
Alex (bass) and Pavle (guitar) have played together in several bands since high school. After they started TYB there was a long search for a vocalist. Then they met Alex (vocals) on a snowboarding trip in France – et voilà!
How would you describe your music to a deaf person?
We’d give them the lyrics and then dance with them so that they can feel the songs the way we do. Explain that sometimes it’s a mix of unmixable emotions, that can make you jump for joy or let you contemplate the night/week before on a lazy Sunday morning.
If you could decide to put your own track in any film ever made or yet to be made, what film/track would it be?
Afraid, from our upcoming album, would be a great soundtrack for Disney’s new adaptation of Beauty and the Beast with Emma Watson.
What movie would you liked to have soundtracked and why?
Either Love me if you dare (Jeux d’enfants) – because it’s about a vast array of emotions or Before Sunset, because the mood of the movie is similar to the mood of our music.
When you were 13 you listened to…
Alex (vocals) – people always think I’m lying – but it’s Britney Britney Britney
